Odd things you see in front of your chiropractor’s office two days in a row.

Day 1

We were a bit concerned what day 3 would bring, but day 2 ended the bike trailer saga.

We have two cats.  George is a typical cat, well, as much as a cat can be a “typical” cat. 

Nobi, however, is a different story…

My mom emailed me this joke, and as everyone I’ve sent it along to has laughed at it, I thought I’d post it here.

3 years ago, Chinese calendar year of the cow …..Mad Cow disease.

2 years ago, Chinese calendar year of the bird …..Avian flu.

This year, Chinese calendar year of the pig …. swine flu.

Next year is the year of the cock ………Anybody else worried?

I have so much to say, but no where safe to say it.  I have found out a rather large amount of information pertaining to the school my children attend, and none of it good. 

Anyone who knows me knows that I have a rather big mouth, and I’m usually not afraid to use it.  But in this case, I fear that it will set off a terrible cascade of events. 

The real question comes down to this:  do I keep my children at this school, or do I try to cut and run? 

Pros:  I know the system, the routines, my kids have friends there, I know the staff.  But is that really enough to keep them there, potentially at the cost of their education?

Cons:  I know the system, the routines, I have issues with the school district and the way things are run.  But is that really enough to make my children abandon everything and everyone they know?

We can’t afford private school, otherwise it might be an option.  There’s a school in a neigboring district that is known for its excellence, but it has a waiting list a mile long. 

So, what to do?  I’ll let you know when I figure it out…

I’m going to try to post every other day through November. I’m realistic enough to know that I’ll never make it every day.

Brain… brain… hmm, no brain here, must be safe from zombies.

It’s pretty sad when some one has stooped so low that they have copped a feel on Minnie Mouse.

Went to Sock Summit, head is still spinning.  Will catch everyone up in the next day or so.

definition: repeating the same actions over and over again and expecting a different outcome. 

School is out.  Mommy’s going crazy and feels like a broken record.  I have 1 big blanket and 2 baby sweaters that are overdue.  I have a pair of socks that are not overdue.  And I’ve just signed up for knitting the Hedgerow Socks for the Sock Summit Museum.  Yes, I’m one of the disgusting ones who managed to get classes. 

On the other hand, I’m done with the sheep!!!  If you have talked to me in the last few months, you know what this project has been.  I always seem to stockpile projects, and then kind of (oh, who are we kidding, there is no “kind of” about it) freak out when they all kind of come due at the same time.  Hence the insanity. 

But, oh ho, I have a plan!  The hub and I are flinging the kids off at my mom’s, then dissapearing to Montana for a week.  He’s driving.  Plenty of time for me to knit a pair of socks in the passenger seat. 

The question is, can I commit to project monogammy…

Nobi is our indoor kitty, and for good reason.  She’s neurotic enough while indoors, much less when she escapes for a few moments outdoors.  She prefers to reign from my desk.  I just caught her looking intently out the window.

“What’s up, kitty?  Ohhhh, I see…”

There is a caterpillar crawling across the window screen.  The cat’s tail is swishing and she’s talking to the intruder.

Good kitty.  Nothing like a pane of glass and screen to get in between you and your prey…
