Some progress on the wedding shawl. I think I might have to buy a longer cable from KnitPicks. Current progress: 3.5 out of potentially 8 repeats (each repeat is 18 rows).
You can see more of the color varigation here. It’s a bit hard to see the greens that pop up every once in a while. I really like this yarn, no obvious pooling or striping.
I also like the stitch definition of this yarn. Not super crisp, but not “mushy” either. The pattern reminds me of fish vertebra from this angle.

I was having a bit of an issue with what she was trying to say about length and starting the sleeves, but between Dianna and Win, I’m back on track. Thank you, ladies!
This week should see more regular blog posting, barring unforseen circumstances, which may very well happen. Today was a day where I could completely understand why some species eat their young.
My kitchen was flooded with an almost full container of cherry koolaid. Under the wire racks that we use for storage. Probably under the stove. No clear path to avoid sticking to the floor. Add that to a just *fabulous* email from my dad’s girlfriend, and it’s been a sucky Monday. I’m taking the week off from blogging. My house is in shambles, I’m peeved off to no end, and when koolaid wants to make you cry, it’s time to take a break.

Is delayed by a trip to the zoo, feeling like I’m breathing mud (apparently not good to pull up nasty carpet when you suffer from hay fever and dust/mold), and I have no motive to pick up the camera and take pictures of my sock in progress. It’s still on my mind, not completely lost, just delayed till at least tomorrow.
Ok, I know, this is supposed to be “Wedding Wednesday”, but 1) I have only added one more 18 row repeat, so not a whole lot more to show from last week, and 2) I’ve got something much more impressive that I want to show.
We’ve lived in our house for almost 4 years now. There was carpet here when we moved in. On a whim, we pulled up a bit of the carpet to see what was underneath. Lo and behold, there were hardwoods! I have been wanting to pull up the carpet for quite some time, but it just never worked out. Until now…
Yes, it’s a little dusty, needs some love, but they’re in pretty good shape! So far we have the hallway, dinning room, and most of the living room pulled up.
If you look under the TV stand, you can see an edge of carpet and padding hanging out. The two bookshelves and TV stand are rather heavy and cumbersome, not to mention filled with books, movies, and knitting paraphenlia, so they’re waiting for another day to have the carpet completely removed from underneath.
So, how much do those three spaces amount to in dump material?
Oh, about enough to fill a trailer made out of a standard-size Dodge Dakota pickup bed. But it’s out of my house!
All of the blocks for the Baby Boydston blanket are done!
Can you tell what Baby Boydston is going to be? Well, besides a human baby?
This blanket is going into time out until I can have a bit of time to figure out how to properly seam the blocks before crochetting an edging.
Next up: a baby sweater!
… is interrupted today by my husband being home for a week and finally listening to my pleas of pulling up our nasty carpet (and when I say nasty, I mean bordering on hazardous material) to expose the hardwood floor beneath. We have a 1200 square foot house. Only about 200 of that is NOT carpeted.
Pros: the hardwoods are extremely salavageable and may not require too much work. Also, no more old carpet to harbor fleas.
Cons: two sons that do not want to listen or help and are stalling work. Husband who is a get up and go person, and I am anything but.
We’re done for today, hallway and dining room are decarpeted, hallway has been given a lick and promise wash with some Murphy’s oil soap just to get up the dust. Actual Munchkin Monday post will come either later today or tomorrow. I’m almost done with the second-to-last square, and then only one more to go!
First off, happy anniversary to my husband. We were married 9 years ago today, and we’re still going strong, despite strong rumors of a shotgun wedding and feelings that we wouldn’t last. Love you!

Could it be progress?
It is progress! 16 rows of the Neck Chart, one full 18 row repeat of Chart 2. (Note: I didn’t pull the shawl out and pin it, so the middle stitch looks like I screwed up near the cast on, but IRL it’s ok).
I tried to get a good picture of the subtle, but absolutely fantastic, subtle color changes, but it’s not really doing it in this pic. I don’t know if I posess the photography skills to do it true justice, but I’ll keep trying.
It should also be noted that even after coffee, sugar, and running errands, I’m still feeling zombie-sh. That could be another explaination.
